Andrés Miguel Cervantes - Songs For The Seance (2025) [Hi-Res]

Andrés Miguel Cervantes has released his second full-length album, Songs for the Seance, on the independent label Speakeasy Studios SF, continuing his Western Noir soundscapes. Cervantes' music, influenced by songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt, as well as singers George Jones and Vicente Fernandez, features his distinctive virtuosic folk guitar fingerpicking and lyrics with haunting imagery of internal and external landscapes. Songs For The Seance serves as a meditation on collective and personal memories, exploring themes of identity, belonging, loss, and hope through soaring noir soundscapes. The album was recorded in an analog process (Otari ½" 8 track) with producer Alicia Vanden Heuvel and contributions from a live band. The material was inspired by Cervantes' travels throughout the Southwest, including the Mojave and Sonora deserts, and delves into themes of the soul, love, dark and light, and seeking hope despite feeling haunted and unsettled.
