.....The musicians lamented that the producer had cut a significant number of solos when mixing the album, trying to turn them into a pop group. Yes, the record is gorgeous without that: a real jazz progressive with Charlie Mariano himself on saxophone, flute and all sorts of exotic pipes. This band was probably the most radical form of immersion in pure rock for Charlie in his long history of performing in jazz and jazz rock. All Osmosis members were graduates of the famous Berklee College, and this undoubtedly left its mark on refined progressive parts, the successful use of powerful fuzz, organ attacks, saxophone heaps, ephemeral flute trills, strange multi-layered compositions and surreal vocals with a psychedelic halo. It really had a refined European sound, far from the country ideals of America at that time, so it's not surprising that no one noticed the band - they were too original. A brilliant early progressive that deserves every attention.
