With The Truth Remains The Same, LUKE – the band led by German singer-songwriter and guitarist Lukas Schüßler – delivers a striking musical statement. Across eleven tracks, LUKE seamlessly fuses blues, soul, rock, and pop into a rich, cohesive sound. Produced, mixed, and mastered by acclaimed producer Martin Meinschäfer (Henrik Freischlader, among others), the album showcases artistic clarity and musical depth.
While LUKE’s roots are firmly planted in the blues, this album reaches far beyond genre boundaries. Songs like I Don’t Really Know What Love Is recall the soulful pop-rock of Eric Clapton’s Journeyman era, while Eye Bags Don’t Lie brings in the smooth, groove-driven feel of a modern-day John Mayer. There’s room for classic blues too, as heard on Riding After Midnight, and even a bold rock edge on the punchy alternative track Love Battery.
Despite this wide stylistic range, the album remains held together by two unmistakable elements: Lukas Schüßler’s distinctive, expressive voice and his signature Stratocaster tone – fluid, melodic, and full of character. LUKE places strong songwriting front and center, but guitar lovers won’t be disappointed either: Schüßler’s playing strikes a rare balance between technical skill and emotional expression. The album’s warm, analog feel is rounded out by vintage tones from instruments like the Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes piano.
LUKE has been turning heads from the start: Winner of the German Rock & Pop Award (2019), recipient of Saarbrücken’s Music Culture Prize (2023), and three-time nominee at the German Blues Challenge (2023–2025), the band has shared stages with legends like Patti Smith, Keb’ Mo’, and Taj Mahal – earning their place among the top acts in the European blues and roots scene.
Following the success of their 2023 debut Strange Boy In Town – which received national radio airplay and was mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Buddy Guy) – LUKE now cements their international potential with The Truth Remains The Same.
