Various Artists - Sounds of Taiwan (2025)

"Sounds of Taiwan" is an ecomusical project created in collaboration with Taiwanese composer Lim Giong. The album offers a musical portrait of Taiwan's people, religion, and nature, built upon Lim Giong's field recordings that are sampled by various invited musicians. These recordings include the sounds of the composer's family's daily life, the magnificent religious procession of Mazu's followers, the atmosphere of an old Japanese sugar factory, the laughter of children in a bamboo forest, sounds of nature like a sugarcane field and crickets, and the deep rumble of the Yuguang Island Ferry. The album seeks to convey an honest and emotional image of Taiwan through these diverse soundscapes.
