Djavan - Improviso (2025) [Hi-Res]

Brazilian musician Djavan has released a new album, Improviso (Improvisation), the key theme of which is the unpredictable and unplanned aspects of love relationships, symbolized by the line, "Chasing love is a jazz." The album, consisting of 12 original songs (11 of which are new), continues the artist's tradition of exploring the theme of love, emphasizing the vital necessity of constant movement and action in emotions. Djavan served as the producer, artistic director, and arranger. The recording features his long-time collaborators, including guitarists Torcuato Mariano, João Castilho, and Max Viana, bassist Marcelo Mariano, keyboardists Paulo Calasans and Renato Fonseca, drummers Felipe Alves and João Viana, as well as percussionist Marcos Suzano. A horn section (trumpet, flugelhorn, tenor sax, trombone) is also featured on several tracks. Improviso marks Djavan's first release in the Dolby Atmos format and will be available on vinyl. The artist also noted that he uses improvisation as a process of melodic reflection and a constant creative challenge, which is guided by the harmonic base.
