Exit Stage Left is the new album by the duo Night Flight, composed of Sam Holmes and Harry Phillips, following up their 2023 release, Songs From Echo Zoo. The record features ten songs exploring themes of love, friendship, and the process of growing up. Musically, the album blends melodic warmth with lyrical candour, reflecting influences from artists like The Band, Big Star, Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, and Randy Newman. The duo believes this work is their most authentic yet, clearly showcasing their creative influences, imperfections, and camaraderie. Recorded at Echo Zoo, Fish Factory, and 123 Studios with producer Caradog Jones, the stripped-back line-up lends clarity and depth to the sound. While drawing comparisons to artists such as Father John Misty and The Shins, Night Flight retains their distinctive songwriting voice.
