Eco da Baía is the debut album by singer-songwriter Tiago Caetano, born in France to Portuguese and Brazilian parents and based in Rennes. The album is a musical blend of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB), bossa nova, and indie pop. It was recorded in France (including work at his grandparents' house near Saint-Malo) and mixed in Brazil by renowned producer Leonardo Marques. The album was conceived as a "tender" and "sweet" response to the cruelty and violence of the world. The tone of the album combines melancholic melodiousness with the influence of 70s samba and the aesthetic of indie pop (with references such as Beach Fossils and Captured Tracks), creating a warm and intimate soundscape. The album's title, "Echo of the Bay," alludes to the artist's family heritage and the atmosphere of post-carnival evenings in Salvador da Bahia, where melodies linger through the cobblestone streets.
