JMMR - Resistance is Fertile (2025) [Hi-Res]

The musical ensemble JMMR (Jordan McLean's Musical Resistance) released its debut Electrobeat album, Resistance is Fertile, rebuilding its operations in 2024 after being founded in 2019. The group was created by Jordan McLean, known as the trumpet player and bandleader of Antibalas. JMMR members have extensive experience, having performed with diverse artists such as The Roots, Tony Allen, David Byrne, Patti Labelle, and Ornette Coleman. The album Resistance is Fertile was recorded by layering first-take performances, utilizing dance music tempos (120–172 BPM). The recording process involved adding drums, synths, and horns over voice memo beatboxes, followed by the editing and mixing of these improvisations. The album features guest appearances from Stuart Bogie, Cochemea Gastelum, Morgan Price, and Ricardo Quinones.
