PRIMITIVE ART ORCHESTRA - qualia (2015) [Hi-Res]

qualia is the second full-length album by the Japanese jazz trio PRIMITIVE ART ORCHESTRA, released on the Playwright label in 2015. The collective, consisting of keyboardist Iori Kimura (of bohemianvoodoo), bassist Kohei Morita, and drummer Takao Ito (of TRI4TH), continues to develop its signature Nu Jazz/Fusion style. The album, named after the philosophical term qualia (the subjective qualitative properties of experiences), presents a fantastic world unfolded within the limited instrumental formation of a trio. The compositions organically blend strong, memorable melodies, typical of Cinematic Jazz, with elements of modern fusion and atmospheric arrangements, creating the impression of a grand, orchestral sound.
