Los Shakers – Serie De Oro (2004)

Uruguay's Los Shakers were a shamelessly Beatles-inspired group, but they wrote most of their own material and actually pulled the sound off remarkably well (while singing in English!). Much like the Rutles, Los Shakers had a great knack for recycling and rearranging Beatlesque elements into something totally familiar yet somehow new. This is better than most of the hordes of Beatles imitators, but still not essential unless you just can't get enough of that early Beatles sound. There's another single-disc collection out there with more than twice the tracks, but this budget compilation will probably suffice for most.
