From Sound to Silence. Nowosielski Live is the fruit of Artur Dutkiewicz's long-standing fascination with Jerzy Nowosielski's paintings. The album contains a compilation of concert recordings by the Dutkiewicz trio, which has been intensively working on this material on national stages in recent years.
The pianist is accompanied here by his renowned companions: Andrzej Święs (double bass) and Sebastian Kuchczyński (drums). Their album is the result of the pianist's many years of experience and inspiration from various musical traditions celebrating the spiritual realm, such as Gregorian, Orthodox, and Byzantine chant, as well as Sanskrit mantras. The trio shares with listeners music that unfolds on longer planes and incorporates an element of meditation. The musicians invite listeners to experience a unique art form focused on contemplative focus, where the music draws inward and awakens something within the listener that lies beyond the music.
The album's concert premiere will take place on November 27th at the Kamaldolese Underground.
