The album Freelectronic: Almost Gama is the fourth installment in the Polish Radio Sessions 1970-91 collection, featuring previously unreleased recordings by Tomasz Stańko made at Polish Radio studios in 1985–1986. This work represents a unique phase in the trumpeter's career, showcasing his band Freelectronic with Witold Szczurek, Janusz Skowron, and Tadeusz Sudnik. A distinctive feature of the recording is the bold combination of acoustic and electroacoustic instruments with the active use of synthesizers (Roland JX-3P, EMS) and electronics, notably without percussion. This imparts a trance-like, modern, and ambient character to the music, comparable to leading international artists who merge jazz with electronic sounds.
