The album "My Time" is Andy Boay's first work since the "In The Light" release, presenting a collection profoundly shaped by tape-based experimentation, lived experience, and important friendships. The album was recorded to a Yamaha MT8X 8-track cassette machine at the New York Center for Creativity & Dance, giving it a warm, analog, and unpredictable sound. Side A features three pieces initially developed through live looping, then reworked for tape by repeatedly layering and bounce-mixing, preserving the hypnotic pull of the original loops. Side B shifts toward a more structured pop writing style, including the tremolo-soaked elegy "Careless", which sits between the mellotron meditation "One & One" and the late-night groove of "I Want More". The album's emotional weight stems from the influence of two significant relationships: the early encouragement of Spencer Gilley and the friendship with Florida musician Thomas Fekete, whose impact is captured in the line "You took that walk for the two of us."
