Mungo's Hi-Fi - Soundsystem Champions 2 (2025) [Hi-Res]

The Scottish collective Mungo’s Hi Fi celebrates its 25th anniversary with the release of the album "Soundsystem Champions 2." This record serves as a conceptual sequel to their landmark 2008 debut, which established the group's status on the global stage. The new LP is a compilation of 13 previously unreleased dubplates (exclusive tracks) that were formerly available only during live soundsystem performances.

The album showcases a broad genre palette, ranging from classic digital reggae and rub-a-dub to stepper, hip-hop, and vapor dub. The recording features key vocalists who have collaborated with the group over the years, including Eva Lazarus, General Levy, Solo Banton, Marina P, and Kenny Knots. The release symbolizes the democratization of music: tracks previously reserved for the select few are now accessible to a wider audience, blending nostalgia with a modern sound.
