This CD documents the final concert of the Conducting Masterclass held by Maestro Ennio Nicotra at the Teatro Il Momento in Empoli from October 5 to 12, 2025. The Masterclass was organized by the Associazione Il Contrappunto in collaboration with the Orchestra Toscana Classica, with the support of the MiC and SIAE (Italian Authors' Association) as part of the Per Chi Crea program. A week of lessons, study of conducting technique, and in-depth study of the Musin Method—the prestigious St. Petersburg school—concluded with a public event where the students conducted a high-profile symphonic program.

This CD aims to convey the energy, intensity, and educational value of an experience that unites young conductors from all over Italy with a professional orchestra in a moment of genuine and shared artistic growth.

Recorded live on October 12, 2025, at the Teatro Il Momento in Empoli, the concert features masterclass students alternating on the podium conducting two absolute masterpieces:

Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky – Symphony No. 5 in E Minor, Op. 64

The result is an authentic testimony to the intersection of training and performance: each movement, while formally inserted into a single orchestral flow, bears the imprint of the gestures and interpretations of the different young conductors, guided throughout the week by Maestro Nicotra.

Ennio Nicotra is considered one of the most authoritative interpreters of the Musin Method, developed in the legendary St. Petersburg school. His teaching and international activity places him among the world's leading figures in conducting training based on conscious, clear, and effective gestures.

Orchestra Toscana Classica Permanent group engaged in orchestral, operatic and chamber music repertoire.
