Sand - Still Born Alive (2025)

The band Sand has released their second album, "Still Born Alive," in January 2002 on Satellite Records. Their music is characterized by a blend of Cinematic, Electronic, Dance, Techno, and Funk elements, creating a unique sound often described as "cinematic musical soundscapes." The group is known for its eclectic approach to performance, having shared stages with both prominent dance artists (Robert Hood, Carl Craig) and alternative groups (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Squarepusher). Their unusual live engagements include a collaboration with the Karas Dance Company in Tokyo (featuring animals on stage) and a performance at the Vienna Opera House with Patrick Pulsinger. At the time of the release, Sand was touring UK cinemas with a series of interactive films commissioned from independent filmmakers. Formed in Birmingham in 1998, the group's members are Tim Wright, John Richards, Hilary Jeffrey, Neil Griffith, and Rowan Oliver, and they have been releasing records since 1998.
