Bob - Swag Sack (2025)

The album "Swag Sack" by the band BOB is a 2025 re-issue of a "lost classic" of early Britpop, originally released in 1989. The updated vinyl version includes the group's first three releases, enhanced mastering, and the previously missing tracks "Brian Wilson’s Bed" and "Bocker Spammy."

In the sleeve notes, biographer John Hartley reconstructs the era's context through the dialogue of Ally, a representative of the Sombrero label, set in 1988. The conversation in a phone booth reveals that the original compilation was a forced measure to settle debts with a distributor, thereby allowing the label to continue releasing new music. Despite the chaotic distribution and financial difficulties of the late 80s indie scene, the album achieved cult status and now returns to listeners in its most complete form.
