Peals - Seltzer (2025) [Hi-Res]

The musical project Peals, formed by bassists William Cashion (Future Islands) and Bruce Willen (Double Dagger), marks a departure from the energetic style of their primary bands toward intimate ambient music and improvisation. The release Seltzer (2013–2014) captures a period of active experimentation for the duo, including creating music for art installations and developing their second album. Side B serves as a collage of home improvisations, while Side A documents a unique performance inside the Bromo Seltzer clock tower. A distinct feature of this performance was the use of contact microphones to integrate the industrial noises of elevator machinery into the music, as well as tuning the compositions to harmonize with the hum of the clock motor.
