In his music, Jakub Zitko combines postmodern jazz, electronics, rock, alternative and novel musical techniques and textures. He works with sonically colored surfaces, electronic sounds and samples that organically complete the atmosphere of the compositions, or become carriers of their meaning component. The melodies are atypical and the harmonies dense, often exceeding the usual categories of jazz. The music is full of emotions - energy, melancholy, psychedelia and, last but not least, humor. All this was already manifested in his compositions for the bands Muff and NUO. Now these musical ingredients are transferred to a new instrumentation with wind instruments and promise original music - composed and improvised, full of surprising twists in dynamics and form.

The main theme of the concert will be the suite "Hyperboloid", which Jakub Zitko recently performed in symphonic form. Inspired by the shape of the geometric surface of the same name – dynamic, three-dimensional and changeable – the suite reflects three axes of human experience: place, time and feeling. Eight interconnected but also contrasting parts create an image of a spatial, temporal and existential landscape. Jakub Zitko is also the author of texts that are raw, austere, unfinished, and always related to a place (Sudety, Hyperboloid), inner feelings (Mé druhé já, Médeia) or historical events (Podzemní železnice).
