Pitom, the brainchild of guitarist and composer Yoshie Fruchter, is a band that defies definition. Equal parts sludge, klezmer, and zany Zappa-inspired anthems, the band’s third studio album “Alive and Well” is their most adventurous yet. The songs are melodic and catchy, while the playing is virtuosic and yet unhinged, with all rules and expectations being set aside.
