Where gritty, homegrown rock ’n roll and storytelling collide, Tarra Layne resides in a bold, new, bluesy place that feels familiar, but uniquely, a sound of her own. Her sultry vocals have graced our ears on Team Blake of NBC’s The Voice Season 11, where she was also mentored by Bette Midler. Layne lent her singing chops to Ari Hauntington, performing the entire soundtrack for the ghostly pop star in Mattel’s 2016 release ‘Welcome To Monster High.’ She toured Target and Walmart stores nationwide participating in kid’s meet and greets as her voice was also featured on the singing Ari doll. From 2017 to the dawn of the pandemic, she performed as a featured Guest Artist for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Layne has been at work on her next release co-produced by the former and late Hinder frontman Nolan Neal and mastered by GRAMMY® winner Dave Donnelly. She is proudly part of the 2024 New Member Class of the Recording Academy and a featured artist on battle rapper Real Deal’s latest album with chart-topping rapper Bubba Sparxxx.
In 2022, Layne released ‘A Ukrainian Love Story’ featuring GRAMMY Award® winning poet, J. Ivy, based on her real-life experience about her husband being held in Ukraine due to the ongoing war. The short film earned her a second Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Music Video.
One half of sync band Go Ginger Go, an LA-based duo comprised of she and producer songwriter Adam Neilson, she has garnered TV, film, and ad placements across titles such as Google Pixel, MTV’s Teen Mom, The Kardashians, Nickelodeon’s Monster High, Beauty Counter, American Girl, Netflix’s Twenty Somethings, and Velma. Combining beat-centric pop production, undeniably catchy choruses, and lyrically positive messages, GGG’s writing encompasses themes of confidence, self-love, and female empowerment.
