Richard Francis - Combinations 4 (2025) [Hi-Res]

Since 2010, the artist has moved away from traditional studio work to produce exclusively improvised live recordings with minimal post-production. To facilitate this approach, a unique hybrid "fugue system" combining digital and analog tools was developed. This system allows for the real-time management of multiple sounds, generative channels, and feedback, effectively becoming the musician's primary instrument. In the "Combinations" album series, this method is employed to create works characterized by greater structure and layering, where interacting sounds form complex rhythmic patterns and motifs.
