On October 2nd, 2025, the Rockhouse was once again set to host a concert, and it was nearly sold out. Master of Ceremonies Norbert Egger opened the show with a rendition of "Let's Have a Party Tonight," immediately setting the tone for the nearly three-hour blues revue. The energy was infectious, and the party express took off from the very beginning; the completely revamped program had an immediate impact. Now, Michael "Michi" Kreipl has joined the band on guitar. If the surname sounds familiar, yes, he's part of the Kreipl clan. Norbert (bass) and Stefan (drums) have been involved in Norbert Egger's many projects for some time and are now fundamental members of the big band. Together with the incredibly agile and powerful vocalist Lydia Stone, the band's energy is now even more palpable. The band seems to have reached its ideal lineup, allowing Norbert Egger to sit back more often and let the Rhythm & Blues Big Band City Blues Connection run smoothly in all positions. With their many performances under their belt, the band appeared well-rehearsed in Salzburg, and the new program and personnel have made them even more cohesive. They presented familiar material in a fresh guise, as well as a number of new Egger compositions, such as the modernly arranged blues rocker "Aching Heart." A hard-working (and well-dressed) dozen musicians, visibly satisfied, proud, and full of energy, kept the party going and only called it a night after the encores "She's Great" and "Everybody Needs Somebody." The blues party express was back at the platform. Many passengers have already bought their tickets for the next blues journey! It's wonderful that there are constants and that we can all look forward to the next celebration together.
