Die Javalins - Javalins' Beat (1994)

The Javalins were the stars of the scene between 1959 and 1964 and shaped a whole generation of guitarists with their style. During the years of the economic miracle many Indo bands came to Germany, among them a group of young Indonesian emigrants from Holland, Javalins.

At first they called themselves Crazy Strangers. In 1962 they became the Javalins. They had their own style, which was characterized by a compact rhythm and got the chance to record the title Twistin Away with Electrola. The enthusiasm was great and the Javalins immediately got a record deal. Paul Kuhn became their arranger and perfected their sound.
Mr. Tschang from Chinatown, Javalins Beat and Sherry followed. The rock version of Paul Kuhn's Es Gibt Kein Bier Auf Hawaii is a highlight on the album. The last singles were Scherben and Tanz doch mit mir Swim.

After that the Javalins disbanded at the height of their career. The singer and guitarist Franky Franken was striving for a solo career; without him it was impossible for the other members of the Javalins to continue.
