Jenny Conlee, renowned for her contribution to The Decemberists, has released a solo album titled Tides: Pieces for Accordion and Piano. This work is a collection of neo-classical instrumental pieces divided into two thematic sections inspired by the sea. The first half, performed on the accordion, is based on ancient Greek modes and combines a melancholic atmosphere with elements of English folk. The second part consists of piano compositions built upon the ostinato technique and is characterized by a more playful tone.
