Kinkajous - Bahman with an H (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2025) [Hi-Res]

The London-based project Kinkajous, led by Benoit Parmentier and Adrien Cau, has composed the score for Sam (Meysam) Motazedi’s short film "Bahman with an H." This 18-minute piece is a masterful fusion of minimalist ambient jazz, modular synthesis, and live instrumentation (piano, saxophone, drums). Although divided into chapters titled in Farsi, the composition plays as a cohesive whole, eschewing the structure of isolated cues. The music mirrors the protagonist's liminal psychological state, utilizing structural fractures, dissonance, and cyclical motifs to convey a sense of alienation and uncertainty. Drawing inspiration from the works of Alice Coltrane and Jon Hassell, Kinkajous have created a standalone artistic body of work that does not merely accompany the visual narrative but deeply explores the character's internal contradictions through sound.
