Hafez Modirzadeh - Post-Chromodal Out! (2012)

Haarez Saleh's debut album, "Post-Chromodal Out!", released via Pi Recordings, serves as a sophisticated synthesis of avant-garde jazz and classical Persian music. Utilizing microtonal systems and traditional instruments such as the tar and ney, Saleh establishes the concept of "post-chromodality." By eschewing standard Western harmonic structures, the work fosters a dialogue between Middle Eastern traditions and contemporary improvisation. Featuring prominent jazz musicians, the project highlights the integration of diverse cultural codes.
