"Movement in the City 3" is an archival release concluding the trilogy by Pops Mohamed's ensemble. Spanning the late 1970s and early 1980s, the album features a collection of progressive South African jazz compositions. The tracklist includes previously unreleased outtakes, alternate versions from the debut album, and rare single edits.

Prominent musicians, such as Sipho Gumede, Basil Coetzee, and Robbie Jansen, contributed to the recording. This compilation serves as the sixth volume in the As-Shams Archive series, highlighting the rich musical legacy of that era.
