The album Elliptical Passage originated from rediscovered archival recordings of solo guitar improvisations dating back a decade. This collaborative project between Barry Cleveland and Robert Rich transformed disparate fragments into a cohesive 55-minute narrative arc. The production process involved meticulous structural arrangement and the subsequent layering of diverse instrumentation, including flute, piano, synthesizers, and experimental percussion. The resulting work explores a stylistic spectrum ranging from contemplative atmospheres to majestic and cataclysmic soundscapes, marking a departure from the previous discographies of both artists.
