In ALL THE WAY THROUGH EVENING, baritone Robbie Milner and pianist Ben Eames perform the music of Chris DeBlasio (1959–1993), a gifted composer whose life was cut short by AIDS. The album features DeBlasio’s song cycles All the Way Through Evening and In Endless Assent, settings of poetry by Perry Brass and Elizabeth Bishop. Additional works include selections from the AIDS Quilt Songbook and Ricky Ian Gordon’s A Horse With Wings. ALL THE WAY THROUGH EVENING honors a generation of composers shaped by the AIDS crisis, for whom creative expression became a means of “doing something about it.”
