Mitchell continued to release strong records throughout the remainder of the 1960s, and across the 70s, 80s and indeed in the early years of the 1990s, prior to his death in 1992. This collection, however, collates the very finest music that Red Mitchell ever released, from the late-50s to the mid-60s, and it therefore acts as the best compilation of the great man ever released, and serves as both a fine starting point for those new to his work, and a superb reminder for the rest of us.
