Algarve All Jazz '24 presents Norwegian singer Silje Nergaard, one of the most iconic voices in European Jazz of recent decades, with over 30 years of activity. Her career began at age 16, and she currently has 16 albums released and an enviable number of awards. A pioneer in her work, she has created a distinctive sound where the smoothness of her voice and style are paramount. Her relationship with Jazz Orchestras is not new; we can cite her collaboration with the Metropole Orchestra (Netherlands), which earned her a Grammy nomination, or her collaboration with WDR, one of the greatest Jazz Orchestras in Europe (Germany). In this encounter with the Algarve Jazz Orchestra, we will present a repertoire of the singer's original compositions, those that best represent her career, with original arrangements.
