Head Space: Candlelight is the first release in the King's Singers' Head Space series, which aims to combine choral music with peace and contemplation. Inspired by Compline, the Catholic night service, it contains Gregorian chants such as In manus tuas Domine and Salva nos Domine vigilantes, which focus on the rhythm of breathing. The album also contains the wordless Songs by Orlando Gibbons, contemporary pieces by Anna Thorvaldsdóttir, Judith Bingham and Arvo Pärt as well as the experimental 4'33 by John Cage and ends with Robert Parsons' Ave Maria and Edvard Grieg's Ave Maris Stella - all of which are intended to create a contemplative atmosphere.
