Compro Oro - Lamellomania (2026) [Hi-Res]

The Belgian collective Compro Oro has unveiled a new project inspired by the musical culture of Kinshasa. Known for their eclectic fusion of jazz and psychedelia, the band has previously explored the sonic landscapes of Cuba, Somalia, and Turkey. In this latest work, they are joined by Congolese musician Bouton Kalanda, whose Lingala vocals and likembé performances add significant depth to the quintet's sound. By blending their signature marimba and vibraphone arrangements with African rhythms, the ensemble has created a unique hybrid that evokes the energy of Konono No. 1 within a sophisticated jazz framework.
