This new program is the result of a collaboration between Paul Lay and Joël Suhubiette, aiming to bridge their distinct musical worlds. It brings together the chamber choir "Les éléments," renowned for its expertise in five centuries of a cappella music, oratorios, and opera, with the artistry of Paul Lay. Lay’s approach integrates Western classical culture with African-American traditions, spanning jazz, blues, swing, and gospel. The project serves as a cross-genre dialogue, blending formal choral structures with the rhythmic and melodic freedom of the jazz tradition.
