Puerto Rican Salsa Orchestra. Ángel Tomás Olivencia Pagán (Santurce, May 15, 1938 - San Juan, Puerto Rico, September 23, 2006), popularly known as Tommy Olivencia, was a celebrated tropical musician, composer and conductor. During its three and a half decades of existence, the Olivencia Orchestra has been an incubator for several salsa singers, including Marvin Santiago, Paquito Guzmán, Lalo Rodríguez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Frankie Ruiz, Simón Pérez, Héctor Tricoche, Max Torres and Ramón Luis "Chamaco" Ramírez.
