Ireland's rock lineage runs deep, from Thin Lizzy to The Undertones. Today, its roster includes Euro-country queens CMAT, rap rebels Kneecap, and post-punk champions Fontaines D.C. Now, Dublin-born, London-based Music City is adding a bold new chapter to that story. Their hooky, punk-infused debut album, Welcome to Music City, is due for release on February 6, 2026, via Redundant Span Records.
The album blends wry storytelling with sparkling guitars, thick harmonies, and a powerful rhythm section. "While we didn't set out to have a specific theme or narrative arc, looking back, this album feels like a constant struggle between hope and disappointment," says songwriter Conor Lumsden (also the drummer, singer, and songwriter for popular Dublin band The Number Ones). "It's the highs and lows of just getting through each day, whether it's in a relationship, against external forces, or your own inner struggle."
"Welcome To Music City" is a massive collaborative effort, featuring a host of guest musicians, including members of Sheer Mag, Dick Diver, and Girl Band.
