The album "Always and Never the Same" is a collaborative project between the Norwegian Ensemble neoN and composer Benedicte Maurseth, scheduled for release in early 2026. The work is centered on exploring the suggestive power of repetition and the timbral possibilities of the Hardanger fiddle within the context of an expanded instrumental ensemble. The project reimagines Norwegian folk traditions through the lens of contemporary classical music, transforming the soloistic nature of folk performance into collective interaction. This recording results from a significant reworking of a 2023 audiovisual production, emphasizing rhythmic complexity and the unique individual character of each performer.
