Jazz Cerkno Records has released a live recording of the Gal Golob Trio, captured during the Jazz Incubator festival residency. Led by Gal Golob, a versatile cellist and double bassist, the project focuses on utilizing the unique capabilities of the cello within the realm of improvised music. The trio, comprising graduates of the Berlin Jazz Institute, performs original compositions that blend modern improvisational techniques with classical elements and folkloric melodies rooted in Slavic and Balkan traditions. The performance features guest appearances by pianist Marko Churnchetz on select tracks.
