Jazz bass player, composer, and teacher based in Asturias (Spain) he began his musical career in 2002. After completing his studies in 2015, he moved to Madrid and continued his development as a musician, playing with remarcable figures in the national scene. He has worked on several recordings and projects across diverse styles, including Arturo Pueyo - Derroteros and Stan iB - Confluences.


An everyday act, sometimes automatic, sometimes an insurmountable obstacle. The first step on a path, or yet another one you've already taken. Irreversible, irrelevant, indispensable, unavoidable, intrepid, inspiring. Right or wrong, considered or impulsive, but taken, and yours.

"Decision" is the first album by double bassist Arturo Valero as the leader of his own project. A compilation of pieces composed over the last 10 years of his career, born from the need to reflect the musical experience he has gained both during his formative years and through the music he has shared with the artists he has accompanied. Nine compositions of varied stylistic scope, seven performed as a quartet and two as a trio, delve into the search for an open and crystalline sound, at times intimate and introspective, and at others overflowing with energy, but always maintaining a strong melodic character. In this album, Arturo develops his facet as a composer and soloist, creating the ideal atmosphere for interaction with the musicians who accompany him.
