Augenwasser - Drones & Love Songs (2015)

"Drones & Love Songs" is the debut full-length album by Swiss musician Elias Raschle, performing under the moniker Augenwasser. This release holds significant historical weight for the European independent scene as it inaugurated the catalog of the Geneva-based label Les Disques Bongo Joe (catalog number BJR001). Raschle, previously known as the drummer for the psychedelic rock outfit Roy and the Devil’s Motorcycle, pivoted toward intimate, home-based music-making for this solo venture.

The material was entirely written, recorded, and mixed by the author in a home studio setting, resulting in a distinctive lo-fi aesthetic. Stylistically, the record balances between melancholic folk, hypnotic drones, and minimalist synth-pop. The music is characterized by raw melodies and lyrics reflecting isolation and internal exploration, crafting a unique atmosphere often described as "ghostly chanson."
