Olivier Hutman - The Following (2026)

A wonderful combination – piano from Olivier Hutman and kora from Lamine Cissokho – to players who really know a way around the sounds of each other's instruments! The use of the kora in jazz is nothing new, but the duo have a very distinct approach that's really beautiful – lots of open sonic space, warmed up by the work of the piano – so that the kora often dips in and out of the flow, then finds just the right space for a solo of its own! Eric Bibb joins the pair on two tracks – and titles include "Kora Kouma", "Flood Water", "The Syllabus Dilemma", "Simaya", "Streets Of Dakar", and "Tamalalou" – plus a nice take on "Song For My Father".
