Aukai - Chambers (2026) [Hi-Res]

The new album Chambers by Markus Sieber’s project, Aukai, is the culmination of a two-year experiment focused on creative expansion within self-imposed limitations. Recorded over just three non-consecutive days at Berlin’s historic Funkhaus studio, the project draws heavily on the unique acoustics of Saal 3 and Sieber's childhood memories of East Germany. Moving away from his usual mobile recording setups, Sieber utilized a diverse array of instruments, including the Andean charango, octave guitar, reed organ, and celeste, to create a lush, intimate soundscape. The inclusion of field recordings and resonant copper bell plates adds a natural, magical dimension to the minimalist aesthetic. Ultimately, Chambers serves as a deeply personal work where every sound was intuitively crafted by Sieber himself, resulting in a cohesive and evocative "dream sequence of sound."
