The James Taylor Quartet - Shadows & Dreams (2026)

Acid Jazz Records has announced the release of its first-ever classical album, "Shadows and Dreams," by James Taylor, the founder of The James Taylor Quartet. Scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, the project marks a significant departure for Taylor, who is traditionally acclaimed for his soul-jazz and Hammond organ performances. Recorded on a Steinway grand piano, the album features nine tracks including interpretations of works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Scarlatti. Taylor’s objective is to modernize the perception of classical sonatas, making them accessible to a broader audience while highlighting the classical foundation that informs his entire musical repertoire.
