Italian producer IKE (Isaac de Martin) releases the Clay EP on Wah Wah 45s, a project stemming from his 2025 LP On Higher Dreams. The title track’s thematic core is inspired by ancient Egyptian "Ushabti" figures, serving as a tribute to human dignity and equality in the afterlife. The EP features five distinct reinterpretations of the original song, ranging from jazz-infused vocal versions featuring Faye Houston to experimental recordings from Cairo. These sessions incorporate diverse influences such as dub, pseudo-drum & bass, and traditional Middle Eastern elements like the nay flute. This release marks the beginning of a prolific 2026 campaign for IKE, with further EPs and a new studio album scheduled for release.
