On the occasion of a concert in the Bavarian Radio in Munich, the recordings of the present CD were created. Dry Red is the chamber music project of the two well-known musicians. The duo developed an independent language between modern jazz, avant-garde and contemporary improvised music. Michael Hornstein had previously been noticed mainly by his own trio. Roberto Di Gioia is a sideman on many projects, including Doldingers Passport. The collaboration of the two began in conception to silent film music. From this, they developed a interplay that lets both jazz friends and lovers of serious music pay attention. In 1998, the two will undertake a Southeast Asian tour in collaboration with the Goetheinstitut.
