Scott Witte - Sailors Dream (1980)

Milwaukee-born guitarist Scott Witte developed his signature style under the influence of the Takoma Records roster and formal flamenco training. His 1980 debut, 'Sailors Dream,' integrates acoustic guitar with cello, ethereal choral arrangements, and funk breaks—elements that later led to its sampling by DJ Shadow. Following a twenty-eight-year hiatus, Witte released 'Sound Shadows' in 2008, showcasing his virtuosity through unconventional time signatures and experimental techniques on 6 and 12-string guitars. His early recordings are currently regarded as rare and highly sought-after examples of private press guitar music.
