ANGEL'S MESS is the third studio album by the Australian outfit WAAX, marking a radical transformation for the project. Following a brief hiatus in 2023, vocalist Marie “Maz” DeVita revitalized the group with a brand-new lineup, taking full creative control and releasing the album via her independent imprint, Drunk On Power Records. Musically, the record preserves the ferocious energy of Brisbane punk rock while incorporating 90s alternative rock influences and lyrical vulnerability. Thematically, the album explores themes of destruction and rebuilding, turning personal anguish into a shared catharsis, most notably on the singles "HANDS" and "Ur A Rat." Produced by Gab Strum, the record strikes a balance between aggressive guitar-driven hooks and soaring melodies.
