Abdou El Omari (1945–2010) was a visionary Moroccan musician whose work synthesized spiritual jazz, psychedelic funk, and Maghrebi folk traditions. Following his classical training at the Casablanca Conservatory, he adopted the Farfisa organ as his signature instrument, crafting a unique "cosmic" sound. Despite the success of his cult album "Nuits d’été" (1976), El Omari balanced his artistic pursuits with a professional career in hairdressing, eventually withdrawing from the music scene in the 1980s. His musical legacy was salvaged from obscurity and rediscovered by contemporary collectors. Posthumously recovered archives reveal bold experiments with the ARP Odyssey synthesizer and 6/8 rhythms, cementing his status as an innovator who effectively bridged national roots with futuristic electronic elements.
