Regarded as one of the “most exciting talents” of his generation, the young Czech pianist Jan Čmejla—winner of the 2025 International Bach Competition Leipzig—now presents his first album on the GENUIN label, featuring a recording of his prizewinner’s concert, which was met with great enthusiasm. The program features a remarkably clear and consistent artistic signature for a debut: alongside well-known works by Bach, Čmejla also performs selected arrangements, such as those by Ferruccio Busoni and Dame Myra Hess, as well as works that showcase his virtuosity, including pieces by Rachmaninov and Ligeti. The result is a debut that reveals the depth and versatility of an exceptionally mature young pianist.
